Tailgate does not move: shock absorbers, struts and suspension

I have changed struts on other cars with no problems. This, like others I've done, was an easy install. After installing them, my manual overhead gate would not budge. Not an inch up or down. They appeared to be welded in place. I had to send the old ones back. I had to send them back.
