Not very hard work - the first hook kept bending and starting to pull out of the stand (not drywall so it was definitely in the middle of the stand) and held under 60 pounds for a short time, much less than 105 pounds stated in the description when i ordered. I bought these to use 2 to hang my roof rack on the wall. I hooked the holder to a piece of pipe, and while trying to center the holder and pipe in the middle of the hooks, one momentarily held most of the total weight (60 pounds) minus what I was holding. I've replaced it with another one from the kit and so far they're holding up, but both flex a bit. I had some more expensive and larger hooks from the hardware store that are much heavier (used them to hang the much heavier and stronger hitch post). Bikes or something 30 pounds or less will probably fit.
