This light up garland is battery operated so you don't need a power cord. At 9 feet, it can drape over a mantel or other relatively small area (remember, you're draping it, not tightening, so you won't be covering anywhere near 9 feet!) It doesn't look particularly realistic. . The plastic has a slight sheen, and the color of the "needles" is green, which does not occur in nature. The buds and berries ruin the look, however, and once you break up the branches (they're tightly curled so you'll need a little work to give them depth and character) and highlight them, they're attractive enough. This garland costs less than other battery powered garlands of this length. You might want to pay more if you're worried it might look too fake. But for this money it's good.
