I just got a Fuli but have been sleeping on a Luxton for 6 months. It's just a little thicker, but much, much more comfortable. The padding makes the difference as does the cross stitching. I also have Fuli tatami mats. I started my dream journey about a year ago on the floor on a folded blanket on a yoga mat and have never looked back since. I tried a night on a traditional mattress while traveling this year and ended up moving to the floor for more comfort. I don't see a return to the traditional bed. I can't say I'm sleeping better, but my 50-year-old body no longer aches from sleeping. I have tried many different types of mattresses over the years. All feel good at first, but after a few weeks you start to have problems with your neck, back, shoulders, hard or soft, or anything in between. If you're ready to take the plunge and try something that goes against all the mattress marketing you've been bombarded with, this is a great sikibuton to try. It's very well made, shipped from Japan (worth the wait) and well packaged. . You even get a little origami crane in the box! Make no mistake - this is a minimal shikibuton, not a futon. This is for serious floor sleepers looking for an authentic oriental experience that will change a third of their lives.
