FULI changed her futon

This is my third FULI futon in about four years. The last two futons I received from FULI were perfection. However, this new futon weighs about 2 pounds. lighter than the previous futon. It seems that FULI has taken material from the most important part of the futon, the dense inner core. I know this because when I hold the futon with my hand, my fingers touch as if there is only thin tissue between my fingers and not the core/layer. The previous two futons had not shrunk as much. The best Shikibuton so far!

I just got a Fuli but have been sleeping on a Luxton for 6 months. It's just a little thicker, but much, much more comfortable. The padding makes the difference as does the cross stitching. I also have Fuli tatami mats. I started my dream journey about a year ago on the floor on a folded blanket on a yoga mat and have never looked back since. I tried a night on a traditional mattress while traveling this year and ended up moving to the floor for more comfort. I don't see a return to theโ€ฆ

A wonderful dream like a ryokan in Hakone

I had already ordered an amazing tatami mat from the same company and it came in a box that looked almost identical to the futon, with the same cute paper crane on it. on the outside of the box. I was nervous about the comfort as the futon is very thin. It comes in a giant zipped bag and starts to inflate as soon as you open it. At first there was a slight smell of plastic. I hung it outside over my kid's easel and let it air out a few hours before bed by turning it over so the sun hits bothโ€ฆ

a permanent solution to pain (and a good night's sleep)

People who gave bad reviews and claimed it was "no better than a blanket" etc. don't understand the meaning of Shikibuton. They should be strong with minimal cushioning and supportive. They are the opposite of western style beds. They're not even considered "very hard" western mattresses. This is an excellent Japanese futon. I slept on it for a while; The very first one I bought was also made in Japan, expensive and filled with 100% cotton. It's excellent, although I find it too heavy to workโ€ฆ
