Correct replacement for Waste King models

We have had a Waste King unit for about six years now and over time the baffle began to lift or pop out. It flipped sideways several times and fell into the rotating death chamber, further damaging the outer edges that were supposed to hold it in place. When his inability to stay still became comical, we realized there wasn't time for a baffle replacement. the parent company, as it turned out). After a thorough cleaning of the Waste King's throat and fitting a new bulkhead, everything is back as it should be. The new baffle fits snugly and doesn't pop out at the slightest touch. The problem seems to be that the rubbery material used in the baffle loses its flexibility over time, resulting in reduced grip ability and an increased chance of slipping. A comparison of the old and new baffles shows this difference in flexibility. . Exactly how that relates to age and how much relates to water, food waste and cleaning supplies remains to be seen, so I won't be pre-ordering these for the future. It seems like they really need to be bought fresh every time. Luckily, both Waste King (the most amazing sink recycling brand. The guarantee is second to none and the build quality is head and shoulders better than any competing brand) and Moen are strong brands with long histories and the baffle/neck sizing is pretty standard. Hopefully availability won't be an issue in the future. Two thumbs up (and a safe distance from the spinning chopper blades)!
