Over the last few years I have tried and evaluated both regular and decaffeinated coffee beans. About 3/4 were regular whole beans. Some of them were quite exotic. During this time I also tested 6 decaf whole beans and 1 decaf ground coffee, which gave each coffee an extended flavor for at least a couple of weeks. Of the 7 decaffeinated coffees tested, 1 was supermarket grade (ground), one was a modest but fairly well rated whole grain coffee, and the other 5 were more expensive, highly rated varieties. 3 of those 5 were ok. One was completely spineless. And then there was this Eight O'Clock, which is very reasonably priced. So low that it shouldn't be a great "taste experience". and only one was even in the same universe with it. I'm done. This is my last decaffeinated coffee forever.
