I bought this magnetic cassette in my never ending quest to improve the sound quality of my stereo and still be cost effective. In fact, I was quite happy with the sound of my existing pickups, both of which were previous upgrades. But you never know if your next purchase will be the musical equivalent of Nirvana. To go back a bit, I recently bought two other well-reviewed magnetic cartridges, the ATVM95EN was the third and most expensive, although not by much. So after reading about the potential benefits of the 95EN, I bought it. Was it worth it? For me yes. In combination with my Audio Technica AT 120xusb turntable, this cartridge led to a noticeable improvement in the sound quality of my speakers. a small amount of almost imperceptible distortion. And if I hadn't been listening in critical mode, I doubt I would have heard a break-end from high frequencies. But of course I was and still am too cynical about the hardware. The second of my aforementioned pickups produces a tone with negligible distortion. However, I consider it prudent. Your packaging sounds minimalist compared to the first cartridge you previously owned. Thus, the reproduced sound was very clear. But it sounds careful, no frills. So I bought ATVM95EN. And I'm not disappointed. That doesn't mean I don't hear errors. I believe that if you look for it, there are problems in all devices. The fact is that manufacturers make troubleshooting difficult. Audio Technica seems to have achieved this goal within the economic constraints associated with this cartridge. He had a very broad presentation with a noticeable but not overwhelming split. The display was distortion-free at all volume levels. She is bright but not offensive. It does a great job of presenting bass material without artificial-sounding "boom". Height does not always outweigh pool class. The midrange delivers a very precise and pleasing sound representation. It's easy to connect, probably because I bought a needle and just replaced the previous ATVM95E. its price range. Should you buy this. Yes, if you're looking for a sub-$150 upgrade so you won't be disappointed, this is it.
