I've tried several "cheaper" models, they're not bad but drift 30-45PPM errors - when it dropped in price I was dying to have one. I've used it on Windows and Linux (both Debian x86 and RaspberryPi ARM), it seems to work fine, although I had to manually update the drivers on Windows 10 to make it work (Windows Update brought them back, I just had " Say select manually" and click the one you want again). SDR by NooElec not only exceeded my expectations, it far exceeded my expectations! I had a small telescopic antenna in my kit - while not the best, it at least works better than the tiny cord that others start with! On top of that, the stability is very solid with temperature compensation. I regret not investing in another one of these instead of other base units. Notably, according to "Calibration-SDR", my device was inaccurate by 0.6-0.7 PPM, which is slightly above the advertised specification. . More testing is needed to determine if this is a "warm-up" or a fix, but it looks like it's worth mentioning. I'm deducting 1 star (wish I could give it 4.5 stars) for not meeting the advertised specs, but it's still top notch.
