I expected it to be ready to use. I wasn't very pleased that I had to assemble it. There were 5 screws in the kit, one of which was broken and wouldn't screw into the hole because the head didn't have deep grooves to insert a screwdriver. So you have to look for a suitable screw. The supplied glue wasn't enough and it didn't even run out of the small bottle. When I put a screw in one of the small pillars, it broke because the hole didn't line up with the center of the pillar. Also, I had to use white dollar wood glue to glue the small pieces of the pillar into the grooves. I would be much happier with it if it was already assembled. All in all not a great experience. Product Improvement Suggestion: Add extra bolts to the kit if any of them are defective, or have all bolts checked by a quality control person. Add a large bottle of glue. What you sent in the "kit" was ridiculously small, and the glue is no longer liquid but hardening. Turn on the screwdriver. I'm just lucky enough to have a good screwdriver, but not everyone has one. Make sure the holes are centered on the small posts so they don't break. Do it, or when you send it ask to have it put together by someone who knows what they're doing.
