It takes a genius to install this on a 93 D21 ka24e. Hold the cover away from the thermostat and tighten the three screws. Then press the cover and, while holding it, tighten the three screws with your fingers. There's no point doing it any other way, as expensive coolant will leak out of the engine and your beautiful silicone gasket will be ruined. Be sure to set the tilt valve up. This allows any air that may be present to escape.
