Our cat hates collars and learned from an early age that protective collars will fall off if he puts his paw in them. (which he somehow manages) - a lot of safety collars and dog tags are lost in our area and we even took him homeless for losing his collar. But now I'm so glad that this simple buckle might not have a safety feature, but that's why I love it - it goes out with our cat and comes back with her. Yes! We've riveted an identification strip to it so there are fewer things to snag on trees and bushes, but it looks snazzy and does what we want it to.
