Good solid construction, much more secure than air vents or dash with CD holder. Durable plastic with a cool rubberized finish. One arm has a tight ratchet that I usually can't adjust without removing it. The other is spring-loaded and slides up an inch or two to place or remove a device. Great price for something big enough for a tablet. I ended up using it for my phone because it was a lot easier to put in and take out than the damn vented wireless charger I also bought. It rotates a full 90* for landscape/portrait. My phone is the Samsung Galaxy S8+. It's almost too small for this holder. I have to rotate it a quarter turn (so the side braces hold up and down) for it to fit. It also rotates smoothly and adjusts the angle a bit (there's not much movement there). It feels firm and smooth. Since I threw away the wireless charger, I just thread the USB2.0 cable through the hole (in the side bracket which is now down and out of the way) and plug it into the phone before plugging it into the bracket. . Considering the mount I bought for my phone for about the same money it was definitely a good buy.
