This is a great alternative to the original Vidalia slicer, it's exactly the same except it doesn't carry the manufacturer's name and is $6 cheaper. We've been through so many Vidalia Chop Wizards, not that they're bad, but we're just exhausting them. We decided to try this model to save a few bucks and it was the right decision. It shares the same issues as the original when it comes to durability and cleaning. Cleaning is time consuming as food gets stuck in the blades and lid and the bottom container eventually cracks or breaks around the legs. But we consider these chopper models to be the best on the market. It's difficult to find the right dicing blade for onions and tomatoes, including a smaller slicer that's great for onions and tomatoes. The big slicer is thrown away because we don't need it. We ordered 6 of them, so we won. no need to order more soon.
