So far both kids didn't really want to wear them because it was so hot but we use them as an alternative to a regular long sleeve shirt and then a running hat (with a sun visor around the neck) when we're outside again. explore the forest. I hope that when it gets cooler again they will put them on to protect against ticks and poison ivy. Bought this in purple too, for my daughter, it was for my son (he's a 5T and it fits well, he's a very skinny kid)
