I replace them every year because my property is loaded with pines and tulips, popular trees, and some of the tulips, popular drops, finds each year their way into my cabin air filter along with pine nuts. Changing is easy, just remove the glove box, then the old filter is located behind the glove box in a plastic box with a hinged lid and remove any extra debris that doesn't come out with the filter. Wipe the spot with a damp cloth and insert a new cabin filter, close the cabin filter box lid, reinsert the glove box in the opposite direction and you're done.
