This is great for tossing in a cooler, backpack or car. It's made out of the same, or similar stuff water bladders are made of. Not rigid, very flexible and durable. The lid has a silicone anti spill flap/valve, similar to some condiment lids, so you have to squeeze or suck to get water passed it. It's not the easiest to do one handed, but can be done. Instead of holding it like a traditional water bottle, try grabbing it from the bottom and gather some of the bladder in your palm and squeeze. I ended up scrambling before leaving on a 5 day overland car camping trip, and we wanted to take some crown royal. So I poured it into this bladder. Now it did great getting beat around in the cooler, tossed on the ground a couple times and generally mishandled. It never leaked or punctured. Here's what did happen, the cooler smelled like booze so we checked the cap and for bladder punctures, nope that wasn't it. The bladder had absorbed the smell, color and taste of crown royal, then permeated the scent through, making the cooler smell. So this is now a liquor only decanter. My thoughts on how it absorbs scents and flavors, makes me wonder if it was sitting against, let's say a banana, would the banana scent and flavor permeate into the bladder from the outside? Time will tell. Something nice about it, the rubbery material doesn't make much noise when squeezing it to drink from I haven't tried yet to clean it, although I see they sell cleaning tablets, so we'll see how that goes. I think this is a good alternative to other water storage on the market, but know it's limitations and where it will and won't work. This isn't a perfect, all around solution for me, but has its place.Thank you!
