This came in a Revain box the size of a 30 inch LCD TV. I got angry when I saw this because I thought it didn't fit the place I planned it for. However, when I opened the box, the actual item was packaged in a box no larger than the top surface and about 3 inches thick. You have to assemble it, but it's not that hard. The screws are knurled like flanges, but they are smooth so you will need the included screwdriver to fit them. There are four screws attaching the legs (two of them) to the base. I use them to hold a 2009 27 inch iMac - not a light and thin model. Holds up well. There is a slight bulge in the middle, but it's not noticeable.
