I paid about $24 for this stand when I wrote this review. Not everything is that expensive, and it gets the job done considering Amazon's base stand is a much poorer design and only costs $4 less than this one. The stand might feel a bit flimsy when you set it up, but when you place your device on it, it doesn't move or wobble. Overall I'm impressed with the design, although I do think the mechanics of the stand could be supplemented as lifting the platters to set them in place doesn't also lift the levers holding them. That being said, it's a bit fiddly to set up, but once it's set up, you're done. The same cannot be said for the retractable mechanics of this case when you slide it into its fully retracted position. This mechanism feels great and really makes this stand that much more portable, although like I said before it can feel a bit loose in its tolerances. It takes up very little space on the table, which is why I bought this stand. I like working in cafes, which means my workspace isn't always that big. I also wanted something that had enough room at the bottom to hold my iPad over the keyboard so I could work on both screens with SideCar on my Mac. Overall the stand is really good and I like the included case as it further enhances portability.
