Review on BlueSpice MediaWiki by Colin Watkins
Blue Spice Has Great Features But Needs Some Improvement
It's an amazing platform that has been around since 2008 but it seems to have fallen behind in some areas (although I understand why).
The user interface could use improvement as well with regards both usability/user experience AND performance improvements - which are needed now MORE so then ever! There was nothing really not liked about what we were doing or using blue spice at all except maybe their pricing structure when compared against other platforms out there? We had no problems during our time working together here however if you do need help setting up your wiki quickly they will be happy to assist where possible though email may take longer sometimes depending upon who answers back etc.
Pros
- Well known mediawiki software
- Easy integration within existing web site infrastructure, can add custom pages easily via.htaccess rules without having server privileges granted.
- Extremely robust feature set
- Has many features available for free users such us wikistreaming & mobile access too :)
Cons
- Some UI issues
- Lackluster security measures / lackadaisical approach towards password protection
