I bought a medium bed with orthopedic insert. This bed is very cheap quality (you get what you pay for). Without an orthotic, the bottom of the bed is literally two layers of fabric, which doesn't seem very comfortable. The orthotic is similar to the "eggbox" foam pads you can buy for human beds, but they are of extremely poor quality. The orthotic usually crumbles and falls apart when touched. Every time I take out the orthotic to wash the couch, tons of foam tips fall off that I have to vacuum. The rest of the bed has a lovely soft plush border which my dog loves. However, it is far from chewable. My dog ripped up the corners of the bed and started pulling out the filling for a few days. I just used a needle and thread to reinsert the spots on the bed where he chewed. My dog was also able to lift the bed and rip open the bottom layer which is not easy to sew back on. In addition, this bed does not tolerate the washing process very well. Fabric surfaces wear very easily. The bed also has "anti-slip dots" on the bottom. This is a good feature in theory. However, they fall off in the dryer leaving your dryer full of tiny dots of plastic/rubber that are very difficult to clean. Instead, I would recommend going to Target for a dog bed. They seemed to have much better quality and larger beds for a price comparable to this product.
