I like that it's very easy to set up with docker containers - just add your input/output files from wherever they are in order to get them into fluentd format. It also has some really nice output filters (like json) if needed! The documentation isn't always clear enough to pick out what exactly each filter does as far as functionality goes. There have been times where we've had problems getting our logs working correctly because there was no way to tell why something wasn't being picked up by one or more loggers at first glance. Also sometimes when trying to debug issues, it can be difficult to know how many steps away from the root cause things were before logging started happening again. We're using this tool for collecting all sorts of different types of metrics about servers running applications written in various languages including nodejs, java & python.
