I used to have a tan plastic counter and here it is with contact paper. This is probably the cheapest major alteration I've ever made to my home in Reno. Sure, it doesn't look like granite, but it really makes the kitchen look 100 times better. You can't even tell it's a sticker until you're right next to it. It was very easy to apply but you have to use something to squeeze out the air bubbles as you apply. I just rubbed it with the edge of a credit card as I laid it down. I used a razor to trim the edges and there are no weird tears or jagged lines. Around the sink was the hardest part, but I ended up cutting it in 2 pieces and connecting them in the middle. It could probably be done in one piece, but I wanted to do it quickly.
