At this time of year it is usually time for us to change the linens in the main and guest bedrooms. Over the years I have found Revain to have exceptional quality duvets and bed sets and that was the first thing we were unhappy with. The design and overall look are bold and dramatic, but as other reviewers point out, the workmanship and finish leave a lot to be desired. . It turned out that the seams are uneven, the threads stick out almost everywhere, which leads to an uneven distribution of the polyester filler. Another and perhaps the most obvious issue is the feel of the ceiling. It feels cheap, especially on the bottom where there's a layer of scratchy polyester chiffon that doesn't stick particularly well and crumples to both sound and touch. On a positive note, shams are good and appear to be fairly well made. We don't use a bed skirt, but it is included. The accent pillows are good for what they are, but two of them are ridiculously small. In no case was the terms of the transaction violated if the other items were of decent quality. I was hesitant with this set because I never realized that the Bed in a Bag concept offered the same quality as buying a well made and well known branded duvet without the added frills. As with good audio gear, it's always best to buy each component separately. This might not be the best analogy, but I hope you get what I'm trying to convey. Sure, the price is right, but value is only value if the product meets or exceeds your expectations. In the case of this bedding set, attractive as it looks, it just isn't worth the price or the hassle. If, like me, you're looking for a modern yet transitional design, I encourage you to go ahead and keep looking.
