doesn't keep bread fresh

I bought 2 of these and as other reviewers have mentioned the lids are slightly curved so there is an air gap for air to enter. I tried bending it back but didn't want to break the plastic. The lids don't snap open either, but that wasn't a problem for me as I've used them in the fridge and didn't have to worry about bugs. I really wanted them to work, but the bread actually got stale almost instantly (much faster than if I hadn't used that box at all). Maybe they are not suitable for the fridge? Either way, I'm sending both back and will keep looking for the bread box.
