Review on Engraver Hammer MD135A, 135 W by Adam Edison ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent product, the best quality.

Only insert tooling of the appropriate diameter into the collets. It is not necessary to try to clamp the snap-in 3.0 in the collet 3.2, for this, buy a cam chuck or an appropriate collet. The collets have a very small range of clamping diameters, very narrow cuts, and hold the tooling more rigidly. The mass of the engraver on the site is one, in the store there is more, in the passport even more, and it is not clear what exactly was weighed (the wire is heavy), but definitely not a fluff. The flexible shaft allows you to ignore the weight (this is for those who care about weight). This is a mini drill, mini grinder, mini grinder, engraver, in short, a universal tool. I managed without it for many years, but new specific opportunities opened up with it, I’m even looking for something else to bungle, it’s nice to work with. But I didn’t like drilling, the speed is high, the tree burns, the plastic melts. As the rpm decreases, power drops significantly. Equipment or immediately buy a good (expensive) one, if you know what you need, or you can buy the largest set in the middle price range, so that there is everything to get acquainted with the possibilities, and then according to the first option. In any case, when calculating costs, multiply the price of the engraver by two. Do not be afraid to make a mistake when choosing an engraver. For one-time non-professional work, almost anyone is suitable. For a home craftsman, it is better to buy a more powerful one and with a flexible shaft (sometimes separately the shafts have exorbitant prices), for fine work it is easier. A rev stabilizer will often help. For frequent work with several nozzles, it is better to have several machines, but you don’t need to teach the pros.

Pros
  • The presence of a flexible shaft, case. Affordable price, a starter introductory set of equipment, which will have to be purchased in addition for an amount comparable to the price of the engraver itself. Pros sometimes mention Hammer as a very worthy option, albeit with some surprise. 5 years warranty, it's good if it's confidence, not the arrogance of the manufacturer. Any equipment breaks, but the store said that there were no obvious quality problems.
Cons
  • Everything is solid good. Hammer disease - do not lubricate flexible shafts, at all. There was a trimmer with a curved bar, there was no lubrication either, but this is easily treated. I tried silicone grease in cans, very slippery. In general, you can use a lot of lubricants, from the presence, but without fanaticism. With a decrease in speed, power drops sharply, see below. Sometimes it's not great, it's better to pay extra.
