Best value sport road rails

Decent performance road rail that can handle a bit of heat on the track. This particular product code is for an OEM rear caliper, but I use the same compound on the front of a StopTech ST40 4-piston caliper. Outside, they are almost silent even in cold weather. I don't drive the car in winter so can't comment on how it performs in these temperatures, but even on a cool spring morning (40-50F) there is no noise when properly dusted. the same as most OEM pads, but most enthusiasts probably wash their cars often enough for this to be moot. On-road braking performance appears to be as good as the OEM, if not better. They don't have the uncomfortable initial bite of an OEM last, instead they have a more linear and predictable feel. This smoother clutch is actually a welcome change for my riders, giving me a bit more feedback and control as I push harder. They are good on the track. They don't have the insane torque or lag that race pads would, but the power is still very useful. I wouldn't put them in a race car, but for a road car that hits the track occasionally, it should be fine. After 3 days on the track on my M3 (a 3700lb car with 414hp) they measured 2/3 remaining thickness - an excellent result for a "dual use" compound. Just like outdoors, once they're warmed up a little, their behavior is fairly linear and predictable. In other words, as they heat up, you'll feel it very gradually, and they won't suddenly disappear and leave you without stopping the force. Your prices are definitely right too. I think my set of rear pads is around $70, which is almost ridiculously cheap for something this good. I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone who has a sporty city car and wants to move away from OEM pads. FYI: They used to be called "Street Performance" but have been renamed "Sport". The composition hasn't changed, it's just a marketing ploy. Below that is a new "Street" pad that's not performance-oriented at all.
