Buyers beware, it's not as durable as advertised and appears to be out of warranty even though I've only just bought it. Durability would give zero stars if I could give that rating. This antenna may be suitable for a desktop scanner, but not for portable or mobile devices. The antenna broke on first use, on the HT I just hit with a door while walking slowly. I have a Radio Shack HTX202 antenna that is over 20 years old and still more durable than this one! I was expecting something far more impressive and durable than that old RS antenna. The base of this antenna screws onto the top and unscrews every 30 seconds. I'm not sure what connection is inside, so I didn't try to secure it with any type of glue. I can only say that the SWR on 2m and 70cm is decent (<1.7:1).
