GUARANTEED value for money

Like. I installed it on my bearcat sr30c and now have clearer channels. I've noticed that I've picked up several out of town transmitters that are also 60 miles away from me and they also go without interference. I recommend this antenna to anyone who wants a little more mileage and clearer channels, I would give it 7 stars if I could.

Pros
  • Antenna suitable for indoor and outdoor use, outdoor adventure club, camping and road trip. Lightweight, flexible and easy to install, the antenna doesn't take up space so you can carry it in an external backpack bag.
Cons
  • Exchange Availability

poor fit and finish

Antenna bar is not fully screwed to the base. The antenna is only 1/4 wavelength at 2m, so unless there is a coil in the base I have doubts about a 3dB gain. The unit I received had a damaged base near the BNK. The shipping box was in good condition so it was selected in this condition.

Pros
  • Compatible with Icom, Vertex, some Motorola portable radios and some Kenwood portable radios; Works for V8 V80 V80E V82 V85 F3S and others suitable for BNC radios.
Cons
  • Minus present

A bit wonky, but good for the price

This antenna wobbles a bit, mainly because the collar doesn't have as much spring tension as other BNC antennas I've used. Unfortunately, the o-ring they sent with the antenna was pretty small and didn't fix the wobble, but if you happen to have car o-rings lying around they will help. For the price this is a small complaint but I wish the antenna had a better spring or spacer. However, the antenna worked well and despite a slight loose fit issue I would recommend it.

Pros
  • Max Input Power - Watts: 20W (ham radios less than 20W); Gain: 2.15/3.2 dBi;
Cons
  • Problems

Update - broken - not durable.

No problems so far. I like the foldability and the flexibility instead of a long full length pole or a rigid one Telescopic antenna. It appears to be as strong as other antennas. This length must not be folded with more than one bend. More than one bend may cause it to break or kink. Tested on an old MFJ-259 analyzer and rated for 2 meters within operation -SWR range (<1.7 at 144.00MHz and <1.5 at 146.00MHz and <1.3 at 149.00MHz) Better than fake Nagoya 771. By the way, avoid fake 771,

Pros
  • 2m/70cm (144MHz/430MHz) 15.3" foldable handheld antenna; Connector: BNC;
Cons
  • Requires socket

You get what you pay for

Buyers beware, it's not as durable as advertised and appears to be out of warranty even though I've only just bought it. Durability would give zero stars if I could give that rating. This antenna may be suitable for a desktop scanner, but not for portable or mobile devices. The antenna broke on first use, on the HT I just hit with a door while walking slowly. I have a Radio Shack HTX202 antenna that is over 20 years old and still more durable than this one! I was expecting something far moreโ€ฆ

Pros
  • The foldable CS tactical antenna is easy to install and can help your portable radio extend its range.
Cons
  • Frequency
