I've been using Gingher scissors for as long as I've sewn, about 65 years. They are beautifully made and can take a lot of abuse. They are very sharp and the hinge is tight so the blades work all the way. I've heard people complain about their scissors becoming loose and not working properly. This is not due to the scissors, but to the user. You can't keep dropping scissors on your countertop without doing damage. Your scissors are a tool and you should respect them as such. By the way, did you know that Gingher sharpens and adjusts your scissors for free, minus shipping costs? Contact them for the address to ship them too. You should never entrust your scissors to a fabric store or hardware store. For most people who sharpen knives, there is no suitable tool for sharpening scissors. The only place I would trust mine other than Ginger is a hair salon. Your scissors have special blades and require special care. Talk to your barber and find out who uses them.
