My Favorite Pet Pill Dispenser

I have been using these pill dispensers for 15 years now. All this time I had to give several of my pets (cats) pills twice a day. Yes, I definitely like kittens with health issues. Once (for 5 years) I gave pills to 4 of my kittens twice a day. At the moment I have two cats that I pill twice a day and one that gets pills once a day. Anyway, I use these pill dispensers at home, for my pets, and prefer to use them at work (I'm a vet). Of course, different people will like different products, and there's nothing wrong with that. By all means, use what you feel is best for you, both as a human and for your pets. But I want to tell you why I like them more than any other pill dispenser. I like the big diameter. I've found cats are less likely to turn their heads around to avoid the pill when I use these dispensers. I've drugged countless kittens with all sorts of pill dispensers. Yes they work with cats and they work well. They are definitely not too big for cats or small dogs. Because tiny pills will fall out of this dispenser, I very rarely give a cat a pill without putting that pill in an empty gelatin capsule (it stays better in the pill dispenser than a tiny pill, which isn't the main reason I recommend just a additional advantage. ). These softgels are available without a prescription. You can even get them here on Revain. I recommend size 3 or size 4. Size 4 is smaller than size 3 capsules. Cats can take capsules of any of these sizes with ease, and you can fit multiple pills or pill pieces into an empty capsule. It's great if your cat takes multiple pills and they are placed together in an empty capsule as you only have to take it once. The reason I recommend putting pills or pill pieces in empty gelatin capsules is that this way your cat won't taste the pill. Cats quite often dislike the taste of pills and may even foam or drool if they taste something they don't like. If you give them pills that they don't like the taste of, they will surely struggle to avoid it. They are often less reluctant to take the pill if they put it in an empty gelatin capsule. For dogs, whether or not I put their pills in an empty capsule depends partly on what the pill is and whether they think it tastes bad. They usually do just fine without it. Also, you can often only use Pill Pockets with dogs. Pill bags can also be very helpful for cats, but kittens seem to tire of them more easily and quickly than dogs. In a situation where someone is scared or upset, most kittens absolutely accept daily exfoliation as another part of life. The same goes for dogs. I know it's easier said than done, but it really is possible. The most important thing is to keep calm (pets can sense this if you're not calm), make your pet comfortable, and try not to make it a big production. Treat it casually like it's no big deal (this will make your pet less likely to think it's a big deal). Give treats for a while before and after taking the pills (when your pet eats treats) to help your pet absorb the pills better. Between the good things, insert what might seem a little awkward to him. If your pet doesn't eat treats, think about what he enjoys: combing, petting, using a special toy, etc., and do it before and after taking the pills. Another reason I prefer these pill dispensers is that they have a blunter end than the narrower, rubber-coated ones. I actually think you will do less harm to your pet by poking them too hard with these pill dispensers compared to the other types. Speaking of injuries, I really don't recommend using fingers for pills for a number of reasons. First, there is a higher risk of being bitten, and second, you risk scratching your pet's back or palate with your fingernail, no matter how short you keep your nails. It really hurts them and they won't thank you and will have a harder time giving pills in the future. So be sure to use a pill dispenser. Anyway, I recommend these pill dispensers. Mine last quite a while before I have to replace them. They're not expensive, so you have little to lose if you fancy a different look. :-)
