Better for the environment.
These are very strong bags that can usefully carry a decent weight. I mainly use them as trash bags. They go perfectly with our baskets. We used to be able to buy them at the grocery store, but now they've all switched to smaller paper bags, which aren't as good. I hate store-bought plastic bags. They are easier to transport but bad for the environment because they never break. Paper bags decompose in a relatively short time, allowing natural elements (wood) to seep into the soil and create a better environment for plants. Don't worry about the trees, for every tree felled, two will be planted.
