I was really surprised at how cheap the attachment point is on this unit. I've had a tripod for decades and have used it with a variety of equipment from cameras to laser levels to various smartphone mounts. I've never had a problem. I was hoping to use it with my laptop for virtual meetings, but it didn't screw in smoothly or fully. This left me with a very unstable surface to rest my laptop on. I used my old smartphone again because the mount is secure and easy to attach.
