Review on Spectre Performance Air Intake Kit SPE-9920: Enhance Horsepower & Torque, Perfect Fit for 97-04 FORD/LINCOLN (Expedition, F150, Navigator) by Gregory Shorunov

Beware of dual top camera owners. Incompatible.

This product is said to be compatible with 1999 Lincoln Navigator 5.4L V8. No, that is not so. The intake sleeve is too small to fit into the engine's dual-port intake; and after acquiring a suitable one (another $30 out of pocket) the actual pipe is about 8 inches longer on the ported side. It's a long way from bringing the heat shield and filter assembly together. The tube also has two vacuum ports; On the 5.8L, one of these fittings is not used (connects to a fitting on the engine itself) and the other line is on the opposite side of the pipe, meaning you also have to pay to install a much longer vacuum line. and also mute the second port. The only thing that really worked out of the box was the heat shield and filter assembly. It fits perfectly and the filter seems to be of pretty good quality so I can't really fault them. I will blame them for the absolutely terrible instructions. It's mostly common sense, but if you don't have the intelligence to do most of this work yourself I'd suggest looking for a tutorial somewhere. In fact, I paid about $200 for an air filter and two black ones. Metal. Never in my life have I been so disappointed with a purchase let alone a car purchase. The only brand I've dealt with that advertises a car and engine type was clearly never meant to work. Attention buyers.
