The only solution I could find for the child lock

My 10 month old will soon be able to walk on his own. So of course I stocked up on plastic plugs to seal off all my outlets so my future baby wouldn't put fingers, plugs or anything else in them. But here's the thing: I'm a techie. I have more electronics in my apartment than the average three families combined, so I have surge protectors everywhere. After all, we need a place where we can connect everything. So we have a lot of unprotected sockets. Now here's the problem: Most power strips/surge protectors have at least a couple of outlets that are very close together. This prevents you from using plastic plugs as they will block each other and cannot be inserted, removed or even both. I combed Revain. Kensington SmartSockets were the only surge protectors/splitters I could find that spaced ALL the outlets far enough apart that you could use baby plugs in ALL, not just SOME of them. And as a bonus, you get a nice long power cord, great surge protector, and nice colored rings around the sockets. It's a little pricey compared to other products, but since it's the only viable product on the market, my decision was to buy it or skip the extensions. So I've ordered three of these (so far). They work like a charm, easy to get in and out of baby stoppers and my daughter can't discharge herself. So I think they are worth their money!

Pros
  • Like all so far
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
