Review on πŸ’– Pink Blush EQUA SMART Water Bottle: Stay Hydrated in Style! by Vangele Carson

Premium drinking bottle with obvious flaws

I've always struggled with not drinking enough water. I was immediately intrigued by Equa's ability to track water intake and set goals. Data has always been a good motivator for me β€” looking at data always helps you make better decisions, and it really worked with my water intake. The EQUA smart water bottle is billed as a premium water bottle and while I can see the details, overall it just falls short of the mark. The water bottle itself is very pretty and solidly made, but unfortunately doesn't justify the price. It insulates well, as laminated insulation materials should, and has a polished appearance that's a bit brittle to the touch. The finish on the cap leaves a lot to be desired - there are so many metallic finishes that make it look great and the one chosen didn't hit the mark. It has inconsistencies and errors right out of the box. The app was very easy to use, although it wasn't exactly intuitive at first. The magic of this product seems to be in the base and application, but even then it's not very accurate. I've done my best to follow the advice on their website to get the most accurate readings, but accelerometer-based estimates are a bit flimsy when water bottles can be in so many orientations other than just drinking them. There are too many factors that are not taken into account, making this measurement method prone to inaccurate measurements. A simple design flaw is that the cap doesn't properly close the opening of the bottle where your lips meet. It could have been a simple design change to provide a 'hygienic' drink, but it was details like this that would make the product top-notch - apart from good marketing, quality materials and finishes, high-tech integration, and smart implementation of technology. It may even make sense to buy a smart base and 3D print an adapter for one of your favorite water bottles before buying that expensive water bottle. I love the idea of this product and their attempt to use a simple sensor to measure. water absorption, but I just don't think the price is justified. I can say that I've been drinking a lot more water and it has motivated me to stay hydrated - even bad dates can be a motivator. It's just hard to justify the price. I still think it's a good product but would recommend many other options - even other smart bottles - before I could justify spending that much.
