Best Budget/Beginner Belt

I am a gym owner, coach and active lifter. These belts are a great value, I have 6-8 of them in various sizes for our members and for the power lifts advise most clients to grab one of these. The quality is excellent for the price point. I believe the thinner 4mm and 4" width is perfect for most people, especially beginners as it is not overly obstructive or rigid leading to the belt digging in or being too uncomfortable. I use these belts myself for squat, dl, press and front squat. I do not…

Pros
  • Hefty and feels of great quality. Haven't had any injuries with deadlifting since using it!
Cons
  • The sizing chart may be inaccurate

Support: 5/5 - I've worn this belt for all of my compound lifts outside of bench. Overhead Press, Deadlifts and Squats I felt an improvement in my support and stability in my core and back. This is obviously the purpose of the belt, but I've worn some in the past that felt less sturdy or had less holes for the hooks to lock into to find your optimal fitting.Stability: 4/5 - As mentioned above, my entire trunk stability has increased significantly. If you want to use this belt correctly, make…

Pros
  • This was a gift to my grandson. So I can only say he liked it!
Cons
  • The belt may feel uncomfortable for some users

High quality that doesn't break the bank

I won't do certain lifts without some extra back support. I'm 100% sure I'm not the only one since these lifting belts exist. I'm a big dude. I've been described as gorrilla shaped. This belt honestly surprised me. For years I have used the belts at whatever gym I belong to and honestly it's one of those things that has always grossed me out. If I'm going to wear a sweaty, smelly belt I'd rather it be my own stink and sweat I'm wearing. The quality is really good. The idea of getting this was…

Pros
  • Mejora el soporte y me da una mejor técnica
Cons
  • The logo may peel off after a few uses

Maximum Support good for me

I am extremely satisfied with this belt. It is comfortable while being very sturdy and a great price. I went with the 4 inch wide option.Something that should be kept in mind is you have to remember that a weightlifting belt is not directly supporting your back, a weightlifting belt indirectly supports it by providing feedback to your core to tighten and make itself as rigid as possible. Holding your breath in conjunction with tightening your torso creates a lot of internal pressure in your…

Pros
  • Did not buy it for weightlifting I have a bad back and it enables me to to what I used to
Cons
  • The belt may not be durable enough for frequent use

This is all you need, don't spend more than you have to.

I bought this belt and another $200 belt. I like this one better. It fits very well and is sturdy enough for most gymgoers. If you lift in excess of 500 LBs, sure, go with a heavier belt.

Pros
  • Does what it is intended to do
Cons
  • The weight limit may vary depending on the user's body type

A great belt for a beginner

In full disclosure I am a newer lifter (officially 2.5 years now of being fairly dedicated to consistent lifting) and this was the first belt I bought for squats/deadlifts. It does the trick for a while but does tend to get worn out the further you break it in. I’ve since switched to a newer belt that is thicker and more specified towards powerlifting which has offered me more consistency and stability. The dark iron belt I noticed I needed to adjust often and sometimes put on *very* tight to…

Pros
  • Perfect for any serious lifter who is operating on a budget
Cons
  • The belt may not stay in place during exercise

Does the job.: my feedback

I'm not picky about belts but this is comfortable, durable, and easy to adjust. Holding up just fine on 500+lbs lifts. It's inexpensive but not cheap!

Pros
  • 10/10
Cons
  • The leather material may not be suitable for vegan consumers

A substantially sturdy belt.

This belt supports my aching back. With occasional lumbar arthritis flare ups, this belt helps a lot. It extends the time I can spend on my feet from a few minutes to about an hour without buckling over from pain.As a person of 6'-5", 300# stature, I appreciate the thick sturdy quality of the build.

Pros
  • Love it. Still using it in the gym. Good material and long lasting. Love it and it’s worth the money.
Cons
  • The belt may not fit well over certain types of clothing

It’s thick heavy leather material which is very good

It came in on time and the material is very good , haven’t used it yet but I don’t think I will have any issues with it. I’m a size 34 waist and bout it the medium fits great!

Pros
  • Excellent lifting belt. If It last a few years I will be happy!
Cons
  • The buckle may dig into the stomach during use

Great Belt! on my review.

I had this recommended to me, and I am very satisfied with it. I am a trainer, I've had canvas belts and also thick old school leather belts. I love this one, its very supple, and ready to go out of the box. No need for break in. Make sure you size for your true waist size not you pant size. Medium worked great for me I wear a size 30 waist in pants, it also worked for my nephew who is a size 28 albeit he was second to the last holes. I say this because sizing can be confusing at least for me…

Pros
  • Oyea it's most better support for my back
Cons
  • The belt may not provide enough support for users with a history of injuries

Won’t fit if you have a short torso and wide hips

I followed the size guide and it doesn’t fit. I have a short torso and wide hips. My hips push it up into my ribs. If it was not as wide, it would fit my waist, but I didn’t even think to measure the distance from hips to my ribs. It’s about an inch away from being able to buckle at all. Not worth the hassle of returning and not even getting a full refund. I needed a belt to help my posture when lifting my disabled dog, but I’ll have to keep looking. Just a fair warning: measure more than just…

Pros
  • Wore this to school and felt no more back pain when picking up my backpack
Cons
  • The belt may have a strong odor upon arrival

It 100% real leather!

Has good quality stitches and provides awesome support for those deadlifts, definitely recommend! Gives me more stability in many exercises!

Pros
  • KINDA TO SMALLI AM 38 " WAISTGOT THE LARGESTTHE REALLY BIG GUYS IN MY GYM WOULD NOT FIT
Cons
  • The belt may not provide enough support for users with a weak core

Very sturdy but could be wider

I bought this after throwing out my back doing heavy squats. After some recovery, I went back in without a belt and it was just too close for comfort and could have a worse injury. Right on the first time wearing the belt I felt tremendous relief on my lower back. It feels like it keeps your torso and spine rigid, allowing you to push harder. The belt is a bit narrow as others have pointed out,so you have to place it around your waist perfectly or you'll find it riding up into your mid back or…

Pros
  • Have used for 3 years. No tears.
Cons
  • The belt may not be adjustable enough for some users

Great Support on my review.

Bought this for doing heavy lifts. Provides great support and fairly comfortable. For strictly lifting the comfort is great! Little discomfort if you are using it when doing certain circuit workouts, for me anyways. Great product, would highly recommend.

Pros
  • its a good one
Cons
  • The belt may not offer enough support for heavier lifting

Great quality for a great price

I was upset when I left my Dark Iron belt at the gym a while ago and ended up losing it after having it several years. I bought another one and the quality is just as good and the product just as reliable.I would definitely buy one of these.

Pros
  • It gives a great support and stability.
Cons
  • The belt may cause uneven pressure on the lower back

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Love this belt good for me

I use this belt at the gym a few times a week and I love it. It's nice and comfy. The support I feel is amazing. Paired with the comfort I almost don't even realize I'm wearing the belt. It's comfortable to wear between sets (unbuckled of course) and overall good bang for your buck

Pros
  • Very good item and comfortable
Cons
  • The price point may be too high for some budgets

Perfect weight belt

This belt is not too thick and not to thin. It doesn’t bend or fold and never rides up when squatting or bending. I highly recommend this belt and can hardly believe it’s cheaper in price than some of the so called heavy duty thick belts that constantly ride up your back.

Pros
  • Cheap in a good way!
Cons
  • The belt may not be comfortable for female lifters

Revainrating 4 out of 5

good belt, a little wide

This is a very solid belt, but I would suggest that you do some measurements since 4 in can be a bit too wide for smaller people, especially if you are deadlifting. For me it digs in a bit to my ribs and hip bones which is distracting when trying to lift heavy.

Pros
  • Helps keep back straight when lifting
Cons
  • The belt may cause chafing in certain areas

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good but can be a little rough.

The belt being leather doesn’t really ease any intense squeezing. I like my belt very tight & noticed it would penetrate my skin. Support is good. It’s just the sharp edged squeezing that isn’t dinner

Pros
  • Great for support. If your looking for a belt this is it! Worth your money
Cons
  • The belt may be too stiff for users with mobility issues

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good belt but a little big

It’s a good weight lifting belt but I think the one size fits all doesn’t really work out for people that are small. The belt stuck out a lot!

Pros
  • Muy bueno
Cons
  • The belt may be too wide for some body types
