At first my 45# Beagle/Lab mix was not keen on this coat because the elastic straps were squeezing her hind legs and making her nervous. In general, it fit well, but the chest seemed tight. I ordered the next size up for comparison, but decided the first one I bought fit better (the first one was ordered according to the size chart). After wearing it a few times in the cold and rain, and sleeping in it under the covers on a chilly night, she decided she liked it. The straps on the hind legs no longer bother them. Never had any scratches or anything like that. It was just a strange feeling, and at first she didn't like it. Appears to be well made and durable. I'm glad I have this on hand for her when she needs it. She seems happy when she sees that she will wear it. I think because she likes to play in the rain.
