I didn't think it needed to be said but a mattress topper is NOT A MATTRESS COVER. I bought two of these thinking they would help with the bugs in this house, it doesn't protect the entire mattress, just the top. I don't know why anyone would come up with a product that would be such a half thing, I don't know if we would benefit from it, but luckily the heat has proven to be very effective against insects. It has a protective finish on the top and the sides are stretchy so I assume it actually only protects against spills right on the top, it fits a 14 inch bed but the sides are stretched to accommodate to fit my mattress and the memory foam to 15.5 inches.
