I was concerned about the claims made about this welding hood when I first saw it for $75-$80. I wanted something that would protect my eyes without breaking the bank. I wanted this helmet to have all the features it should have for the price. Fit and Finish - feels sturdy yet pliable. Fine if/when I drop the helmet on the concrete floor. Don't forget to remove the green tinted inner and outer film from the lens when you receive it by removing the lens assembly itself. The coloring and design are fine and look nice. Simple design but I like minimalism. The helmet was easy to assemble. Others here have complained that the plastic pieces broke to fit the hat onto the helmet. I couldn't find what it was. I have not rushed or forced anything. There might be instructions that would make this much easier. Performance - The helmet performs as advertised. As this is my first welding hood I have no comparison with it but so far I am very happy with the helmet. I've had this helmet about 40-50 hours mostly for welding with some grinding in between. I find it a bit uncomfortable with prolonged use (1-1.5 hours at a time), but other than that I find this device reliable. I would definitely recommend it to everyone including friends and family.
