The backlight turns off by itself, causing the stable weight value on the display to change abruptly. Unlike the current itself, apparently it can't be turned off to keep it on. After a short time, the backlight of the display turns off. This happens even if auto power off is disabled. The display changes by up to 12 counts. Briefly pressing [CAL] or cycling through [Mode] will turn the backlight back on and the displayed value will move in the opposite direction again. As a former electronics engineer, I don't think this should happen if the internal power topology is properly designed. It's an inconvenience and I feel like I paid too much money for this scale, my first not to turn off completely when weighing or combining multiple ingredients. Since it has a micro USB interface connector I thought support and firmware upgrades might be available, but I didn't see any mention of it nor more detailed specs.
