Six Month Review Sponges

I purchased these sponges over six months ago out of a combined interest in economy and reducing the amount of disposable items I use every day. I used to use disposable sponges with an abrasive side, and when I first switched to reusable sponges, I noticed a few downsides. First, they're significantly larger than the sponges I'm used to; This might seem like a silly complaint, but they are 2-3 times the size of most kitchen sponges and felt a bit bulky at first. Second, these sponges have one side a little more abrasive than the other, but it's not as strong as the sponges I'm used to. After a few weeks of use I got used to both. They get dirty/smelly just as quickly as disposable sponges, but are relatively easy to clean; We just threw them in the dishwasher. After a few months I've noticed that the microfiber material is starting to peel and looks worn, so I doubt they'll last more than a year. However, recently we had someone to look after us while we were out of town for the weekend. , and pulled a disposable sponge from under the sink instead of one of the reusable ones. When we got home I started using it and got really sick; It wasn't until I tried the disposable sponges again that I realized how much better they are. While I don't hate reusable sponges, I don't see them as a worthy substitute for disposables and keep coming back to them.
