UPDATE: So after losing a few sailboats I stripped everything, bleached and cleaned the hull. I tried again. At first I had a doll dovetail in it and its silk was NOT sticking back. Then I had a monarch doll. I checked after 48 hours if it is silk and it is safe! So while I'll never use it for dovetails again, it's safe to say it will most likely work for a monarch. So I spent $85 on two of them for a reason. I'm changing my rating from 1 star to 3. I've been using them to raise monarchs and sailboats for many years. They have always been very reliable. I bought two more a few weeks ago to add to my collection. Well, the grid on them is completely different now. My sailboats literally fall from the top of the enclosure to the ground! Your silk will not stick to the net. I had 6 falls and had to take off the rest. All I had to do was touch them and the silk came loose from the web. Monarch season is starting and I'm not even thinking about putting them in new enclosures.
