Three days later I am delighted to have this replacement case for my 2012 Accord key. After reading reviews and looking at photos of this and other brands of repair cases it seemed like a good choice - a competitive price (at least for a pair), a solid looking key ring and a recessed panic button. The kit contains four case halves, two small plastic parts, two screws and a small screwdriver, all packed in small zip-lock bags. Although no instructions were provided, swapping out the old for the new was fairly intuitive. In order to remove the metal key shank from the old key case, it had to be loosened. The next step was to insert the key pin into a small piece in the kit - a very tight fit. This is actually a nice feature as it holds the shaft very firmly, but it took a few hits with a hammer and a small nail to get the small piece of plastic to hold up. It is important to mount the shaft in this part so that the screw hole in the shaft lines up with the hole in the plastic part. Remove the electronics module from the old key housing, install it in the new housing, insert the properly aligned shaft/plastic assembly and carefully assemble the two halves of the new housing. This process requires special care as the two body parts fit together very precisely. When the case halves are fully and properly connected, insert and tighten one of the provided screws and you are done. I immediately tried all the knobs and they worked perfectly - no "tightening" in small or poorly made openings. Then I tried the "new" key in the ignition and in the door and that worked. Aside from the missing Honda logo on the back, it looks and functions the same as the original. All in all a very pleasant experience.
