Warning These stones are larger than the description states. Rather than 0.25-0.5 inches, they are more like 0.5-1 inches. The stones themselves are very beautiful. This is the type known as snow quartz, milky quartz, white chalcedony, etc., including several light-colored smoky quartzes. They have been sanded and polished so they are very smooth and shiny which is what I wanted; I could not find another seller whose stones were polished. About 40% are bright white, about 60% are slightly more translucent; Some of them have small inclusions of iron oxide. I use these stones to decorate my orchid pots and as this is a humid environment the iron oxide rusts and so sometimes I get a bit of orange in one of the stones. It does not bother me. I am very satisfied with these stones and have already bought them 5 times. The seller worked with me to buy them in bulk. I have a lot of these at the moment but when they run out I will buy more.
