Review on Comfort Wide Cruiser Seat Black by Shane Jess

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great item for DIY GPS tracking

Reliable, durable and lockable (most important). The seat feels comfortable and the storage space is big enough for a phone or other items. Recently, some enterprising people stole our eldest child's bike from our yard. I decided to develop a way to prevent this. This seat was the perfect solution for returning the bike should it get stolen in the future. Many of the tracking solutions I found were expensive and/or paid extra on a monthly basis. Not ideal for a bike that doesn't cost enough to pay for a month or a cheaper bike that you rant about but end up buying a replacement anyway. The hole in the lock is 3/16, but any 3/16 cable may not work if the cable has a plastic jacket. I had to use a 7/32 drill bit and carefully shave just enough to get the cable I bought to fit. Bought a cheap phone from a phone company (FreedomPop) that didn't have a contract, ZERO cellular plans. The plan, which also included 500MB of free data per month, is more than enough to crunch a few Google Where's My Devices. So I can use Gmail/Google to use "Find My Phone" in account settings or use Google "Find My Device" app. Change some settings on your phone so you don't turn off the antenna to conserve battery power. Instant GPS tracking. Uses Master's 6' 3/16 "adjustable latch cable" to go over the backrest with just enough slack to thread the loop through the frame to prevent the seat from falling out/stealing. Salon content is now protected! Give her a chance to find her. Suppose the thieves are smart enough to figure out that phone tracking is possible.
