I purchased this product to relieve moderate hand pain that I had during long rides. At first I thought I just had to be fit for my bike, which made things better, but the pain in my palms remained. When it came time to replace the bar tape, I decided to take it out and put it under the new tape. I am happy to report that this Fizik Bar gel has provided as much pain relief as possible. Physically, of course, I'm still tired, but not in my hands. Thanks to this inexpensive product, I no longer have to make my trips shorter than I would like. Also, the gel appears to be very strong and will likely endure many more poultices in the future. There are a few things that could be called cons, but they aren't for me. First, the product makes it difficult to take up fresh tape; Keep the tape taut and the gel flush with the handlebar. The bottom of the gel strip has a natural stickiness but is not sticky. Unless your wheel is new or 110% clean you may have trouble keeping the gel stick on the wheel while wrapping like I did. Add some girth to your barbell. I have an old 26.0mm handlebar so I don't care - I really like that extra circumference. Those with 31.8mm bars who are already struggling to find a good grip due to their smaller hands might not appreciate the extra circumference. You should think about buying Fizik Bar Gel.
