Review on XY 380 Aquarium Biochemical Sponge Filter by Clare Thoms

Mercy! This filter is huge! I use this in 40 gallons. reservoir, and it does an excellent job of keeping the water clean. I have a natural sandy bottom and lots of plants so the sediment really shakes up when I do a water change. This filter (works with Whisper 10) cleans the water again after a 1/4 water change in about 30 minutes. Just unbelievable! CONS: Due to the fact that the pipe is on top, a large amount of bubbles enter the water. It would be nice if you didn't have an aquarium with plants. I have a CO2 system so I had to adjust the air recirculation to keep the water surface calmer (to keep the CO2 in the water). I just added another piece of tubing that brought the end of the tubing closer to the surface and now the surface is a lot less, um, bubbling :)
