As a mirror itself - good small size, strong stand, good rear magnification. However, the lighting isn't very good, except when you're using the zoom side and you're very close to the mirror. With normal use, your face doesn't get lighter, it gets darker than natural light, and bright white instead of soft white distorts your color. It's almost impossible to put on good makeup with the lights on. The place I do my makeup is next to a window, which gives good light to one side of my face in daylight, but the other side isn't lighted either, so I was hoping this mirror would help by evenly illuminating my face . It's not like this. It doesn't even light up unless I'm within a few inches of it, which is inconvenient for normal use. If you want a nice little unlit mirror that's great, but don't buy it for light. It charges easily and holds a charge well, and the light is useful for eyebrow plucking or other very close-up work, that's all.
