If you want to use a gaming headset (headset with a microphone and only one cable) without spending a lot of money on a wireless Bluetooth headset, you need to buy one of these headset extension cables. Let me explain, I bought a gaming headset for my son to use with his Nintendo Switch at Best Buy. Turns out it was made for the PC and had two separate 3.5mm jacks - one for headphones and one for a microphone, which the Switch doesn't have. I don't support. I returned them to Best Buy and received another set, however the new set only has a 1m cord. The salesperson who helped us with Best Buy explained that this is because with the PS4 and X-Box One controllers, you plug the headset into the handheld controller. He said they made renewals for her, but Best Buy doesn't sell them and "he's never seen them in a store." A quick search on Revain turned up this extension cable from KabelDirekt, and it supports headphones and a microphone in one cable, which is an absolute must for the Switch. My son loves the fact that he no longer has to sit 1 meter from the counter to play Fortnite. The cable has very good strong insulation and high quality connectors at both ends. I bought a 10ft cord and the headset and extension cord cost about $20 less than any other Bluetooth wireless headset.
